The race is on! Learn about the lives of coal miners and their families through oral histories, artifacts and a fast paced simulation. This program highlights the connections between history, natural resources and the economy through the topic of coal mining. 

Working in six groups, students recreate Lethbridge on a map as they learn how and why Lethbridge developed as it did.

Mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War by learning about men who served on the Western Front and their families who lived in Lethbridge. Take a trip down to the archives to read actual letters and dairies from the conflict. 

Explore change over time as we compare our own lives to the experiences of people in the past. Students will examine pictures, handle objects and hear stories which highlight the great change and consistency that has occurred.
