The Canadian Business History Association (CBHA) recently announced the winner of its annual $10,000 Waugh Prize during the 3rd World Congress of Business History, held at Hart House, University of Toronto.
This year's competition showcased an impressive range of public history projects from across Canada, with A Smile in Every Bottle: Sicks' Lethbridge Breweries Ltd., a recent Galt Museum exhibit guest curated by University of Lethbridge PhD candidate Stephanie Laine Hamilton, shortlisted as one of five finalists.
While the 2026 Waugh Prize was ultimately awarded to the Manitoba Food History Project, led by Professors Janis Thiessen, Kimberley Moore, and Kent Davies, we are thrilled to see Stephanie's work and the exhibit receive national recognition.
If you've visited A Smile in Every Bottle or participated in one of Stephanie's guided tours, you've experienced firsthand the depth of knowledge, research, and passion she brought to the project. Her expertise was instrumental in helping the Galt curatorial team bring the story of Sicks' Lethbridge Breweries to life for visitors.
