Bring out the paisley, the platforms, tie-dye and turtlenecks… the Galt Museum & Archives is gearing up for its 1960s-themed Beer (& wine) Tasting Soirée fundraiser Friday, September 5 from 4:30 – 10:00 pm—and tickets are going fast!

“This year’s event, presented with College Lincoln, is themed around the upcoming Treasures & Curiosities: The Sequel, exhibition,” says the Galt’s Resource Development & Volunteer Coordinator Chris Roedler. “Our rooms, entertainment and tastings will be focused on the 1960s, and we encourage ticket holders to get into the groove by dressing in period costume.”

New beers and past favourites, along with wine and spirits, will be available for sampling at the event, along with a selection of festival foods.

“Our liquor sponsor, Northside Liquor Store, did a tremendous job last year, and again, they have been instrumental in lining up a fantastic selection of vendors”, says Roedler. “We’re also bringing back our silent auction, festival foods including bratwurst, buffalo smokies with gourmet condiments, special salads, and more; and entertainment will be provided by Pyramid Entertainment and Drama Nutz. We are also thankful for the support of our media sponsor, 94.1 CJOC, and the inviduals and businesses supporting the silent auction.”

Silent auction items include a round trip flight for two from Lethbridge to Edmonton on Integra Air ($1320 value); the Sunshine Trail Brewery Tour for two valued at $1000 with stops in Great Falls, Helena and Butte, Montana including week-long accommodation, four brewery tours packages, and a gas card, as well as a number of other gift certificates. All proceeds from the event support the Galt Museum & Archives.

Tickets are priced at $12 + GST ($9 + GST for Annual Pass Holders). Collector mini glasses are available at the event to ticket holders, while supplies last, and product sampling tickets will be sold at the event for $1 [GST included].
