Lethbridge, AB – Thanks to the support of the Green Acres Kiwanis Club of Lethbridge we’re reprising our Top Five Saturdays at 1:00 and Summer Family Fun Programs during Winter Break 2017. Only the most popular and successful programs are chosen for the Top 5, giving families a second chance to attend the programs they may have missed or projects they may be excited to repeat again.
Programs include:
Tue JAN 03 Sock Snowmen: Learn about the origins of the snowman and use a sock to create a cute snowman ornament.
Wed JAN 04 Optical Illusions: Explore the history of optical illusions and make some cool toys including a thaumatrope.
Thu JAN 05 Periscopes: Make a periscope, an instrument for observation over or around objects, and learn about the historical uses of periscopes.
Fri JAN 06 Watercolour Painting: Practice basic watercolour techniques and create a piece of art inspired by local artist Annora Brown.
Sat JAN 07 Carnival Masks: Carnival is celebrated in many countries around the world. Find out more about these celebrations and make a carnival mask.
“The Top 5 programs are wonderful opportunities for families to do something fun and creative together during the holidays! You can also check out our interactive special exhibit Kids Celebrate, which is an exploration of celebrations across Canada,” says Community Programs Coordinator Janae Redgrave.
