Sip Happens 2.0, an event coordinated by the Education and Archives departments at the Galt was another success in 2026. A small, but eager crowd of educators gathered in the Galt’s Viewing Gallery to take part in an enormous (and delicious) charcuterie spread provided by Prime Catering, cocktails, prize draws, and to get the bottom line on the many excellent resources the Galt has available.

The event rides the coattails of South Western Alberta Teachers’ Convention Association (SWATCA) each year, with the goal of showcasing the many tools available to educators right here at the Galt Museum.

It’s a known fact that the Education department at The Galt provides many excellent learning opportunities to student populations around Lethbridge. What’s not as obvious is that the Archives department has always been an excellent resource for educators.

Many have visited the Research tab on the Galt’s website, but educators have a new resource at their fingertips! Educators can now download packs of high-resolution images which follow distinct learning themes. Educators may use these resources as they see fit, free of charge!

Teachers can email the Archives department at archives@galtmuseum.com for more information and access to the resource. They may also email caitlin.forseth@galtmuseum.com from the Education department to discover the many ways the Galt can bolster learning opportunities for youth preschool through grade 8!
