Galt Museum Hosts Special Event Featuring Legacy of Hope Foundation Board President

Lethbridge – The Galt Museum & Archives | Akaisamitohkanao’pa (eternal gathering place) is honoured to host the visit of Adam North Peigan, Board President of the Legacy of Hope Foundation on February 9, 2024. The occasion will feature Apooyak’ii/Dr. Tiffany Prete, guest curator of Stolen Kainai Children: Stories of Survival. Adam's visit coincides with the Escaping Residential Schools: Running for their Lives exhibit, which is on loan from the Legacy of Hope Foundation. The exhibit is raising awareness about the Residential School System.

Chess Club Plays Giant Exhibition Game Downtown

Lethbridge — On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 11 am in the Galt Museum’s Nurse’s Garden, a battle between two Lethbridge chess masters will take place. Garth Dunn and Paul Viminitz will face off utilizing a giant chess set donated to the Galt by Chinook Woodturning Guild in 2013.

Galt Museum goes Electric for New Programming Cargo Van

In coordination with the City of Lethbridge, museum staff are excited to announce that its new programming cargo van is an all-Electric Vehicle (EV). The van was recently purchased through the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC), which is a partnership of Alberta Municipalities, Rural Municipalities of Alberta, and the Government of Alberta.
