Tell us a little about yourself!

I'm Victoria Lasalle, a recent Art History/Museum grad from the University of Lethbridge. I have an interest in collections management and different ways to create engagement in the museum space. Some fun facts about me are that I enjoy golf, trying new gluten-free recipes, and I know how to fence!

How was your experience volunteering with the Galt?

My experience with volunteering at the Galt has been amazing! I’ve had the opportunity to learn about our community through the lens of members of the public who participated in the selection of objects for the Treasures and Curiosities exhibition. As well, reading about the objects within the collection and the donors' connection to those objects has been very interesting. It has also been great volunteering with Kevin and learning everything that he knows about the Galt’s collection.

In your opinion, what was the most interesting artifact that was selected by a member of the community?

My favorite object though would be the one “Punkinhead” Bear that was picked. This is because it is a relatable experience of getting gifted your favorite stuffed animal that acts as a vessel for holding all of your memories.
