ARCHAEOLOGY MOVIE TRIVIA NIGHT LAST EVENT OF 2012

NEW SPECIAL PROGRAM | THURSDAY DECEMBER 6, 2012 | 7:00 - 9:00 pm

Boring shmoring! Forget your regular Thursday night goings-on and bring your friends to the Galt Museum & Archives for a guaranteed good time on Thursday, December 6 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm as the indefatigable Archaeology super-star Kevin McGeough leads a brain-scratching trivia challenge featuring facts and fiction from archaeology movies through the ages.

"The questions have been designed to be fun for film fans or archaeology buffs,” says McGeough, an associate professor at the University of Lethbridge Department of Geography (Archaeology). “Some questions are very easy and some are very hard but everyone that shows up will have a good chance to win great prizes. If you want to study for it, I suggest watching the Indiana Jones films before the event. This is the kind of homework my students are happy to be assigned!”

"I've been posting hints about the films I'm writing questions about on Twitter – you can find these at #GMAtrivia”, McGeough says.

“Post-secondary students and anyone over 18 interested in movie trivia are invited to create a team or challenge themselves... we’ll have food, fun, and lots of prizes up for grabs,” says Leslie Hall, Community Programs Coordinator at the Galt.

Tickets will be sold at the door and cost $4 for students [must be 18+], and $6 for adults, and include access to the Uncovering Secrets: Archaeology in southern Alberta exhibit, closing on January 13. Event admission is free for Annual Pass holders. A cash bar and delicious tapas will also be available.

Upcoming Galt special programs and events in the next few months include Scotch & Burns January 19; the Friends of the Galt Valentine’s High Tea on February 9; Nerd Fest March 21-23; Superheroes Dinner on March 23; Eggstravaganza on March 30; and Taste of Downtown on May 8.
