Saturday July 11, 2026 | 5:30pm - 7:30pm | Pedals & Public Art w/ Bike Lane x SAAG
An evening to explore the city’s public art in a fun and interactive way! This event is brought to you in partnership with Bike Lane, the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin and the Galt Museum & Archives Akaisamitohkanao’pa, offering a unique opportunity to experience art, movement, and community all in one ride.
The journey begins at the Galt Museum & Archives - where Bike Lane will provide complimentary bike inspections to ensure everyone is road ready. After a brief overview of the route and a discussion on cycling safety, participants will then as a group embark on the public art bike crawl, discovering murals, sculptures, and other artistic landmarks scattered throughout downtown and area.
The ride will cover approximately 6 to 10 kilometers at a relaxed pace. As we explore, there will be plenty of opportunities to pause, take in the artwork, and discuss its significance.
This event is open to all ages, children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Participants are required to bring their own bicycles, helmets, and safety gear, and it’s recommended to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Please note that washrooms will not be available along the route.
To join the ride, advance registration is required.
