Fly Fishing: Learning to cast on the Old Man River with Shane Olson of My Fly Guy

Spend a day on the Oldman River learning the fundamentals of fly fishing with Shane Olson of My Fly Guy. This hands-on program introduces participants to fly fishing with a focus on casting techniques, river safety, and understanding local river conditions.

The morning session takes place in a classroom setting, where participants will learn the basics of fly fishing, equipment setup, knot tying, and casting theory. In the afternoon, the group heads to the Oldman River to put those skills into practice with on-river instruction and guided support.

Designed for participants aged 12 and up, this program welcomes youth attending with a caregiver. Kids attend at no cost. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gear, but all necessary equipment can be provided if needed.

The program fee is $90 per adult participant.

Itinerary:
- Classroom portion: 9:00AM–NOON
- On the river: 1:00PM–4:00PM
