Earth, Memory, and Resistance: An Indigenous Climate Action Panel with SAAG

  • Galt Museum & Archives 502 1 Street South Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1Y4 Canada (map)

Land holds stories, and Indigenous knowledge keepers, artists, scientists, and activists have long listened—interpreting the stories of the earth, the shifts in the waters. This panel gathers voices at the intersection of art and environmental advocacy, exploring how Indigenous worldviews offer both ancient and urgent solutions to the climate crisis.

In conversation with artist Leila Sujir’s Fall 2025 SAAG exhibition– which layers history, landscape, and imagination, this discussion weaves together perspectives on land stewardship, ecological responsibility, and creative resistance.

Through this exchange, panelists will engage in a dialogue that is not only about survival but about resurgence—about the ways in which Indigenous thought, creativity, and activism continue to shape the world we live in.
