Saturday JANUARY 19 | doors open at 6:00 | tickets at the door only

Scots of all plaid patterns and non-Scots too are invited to celebrate the 254th birthday of Scottish poet Robbie Burns during the Galt Museum & Archives 2013 Scotch & Burns event on Saturday, January 19 with Scotch Tasting for ages 18+ starting at 6:30 pm, and an all ages program beginning at 7:00 pm. Doors open at 6:00 pm.

“Auld Lang Syne” is one of Burns’ most well known poems or songs,” says Chris Roedler, Resource Development & Volunteer Coordinator in charge of the special event at the Galt. “We’re looking forward to welcoming the Golden Mile Singers this year to lead a sing-a-long, in addition to performances by the Lethbridge Highland Dancers and Lethbridge Legion Pipe Band. We will, of course, also be piping in the haggis followed by the “Address to a Haggis” and haggis tasting.”

In addition to the all ages program, a scotch tasting with Kyle Baines of Andrew Hilton Wine & Spirits will continue until the scotch runs dry; tasting tickets will be available at the event. Scotch & Burns tickets will be available at the door only at $3/person and $1/Annual Pass holders. Admission for children 6 and under is free. Admission also includes access to the permanent exhibits in the Discovery Hall.
