Galt Museum Virtual Tour

  1. Prices do not include GST.
  1. A 50% non-refundable initial payment is due at the time of booking.  The balance owing is due the date of the event and if not paid at the time of the event, will be billed to you following the event.  Interest will them be accrued to all balances not paid in full on the date of the event.  Cheques are to be made payable to City of Lethbridge.
  1. Cancellation rates: Please inform the Galt staff immediately should you need to cancel your booking.  The 50% initial payment is non-refundable.
  1. DecoratingThe Galt is first and foremost a Museum

    NOT PERMITTED:

  • Tape/thumbtacks
  • Wild flowers [flowers are only allowed if they are obtained from a professional florist]
  • Candles
  • Hanging of decorations, etc. from the ceiling
  • Attaching of decorations to the windows or walls

    PERMITTED:

  • Arches and other stand alone decorations
  • Mini lights and other electricity-dependent décor [there are many electric outlets available]

    Please note that setting up decorations prior to your event needs to be done as per the schedule decided upon by you and the Facility Booking clerk at the Galt Museum & Archives; this may include bringing items in on the morning of the event and storing, if room allows, and this may include leaving items overnight [except for flowers, dishes and food] if space allows and does not interfere with other bookings.  Please inquire at the time of booking. 

    The Galt Museum will not be able to provide you with any tools or supplies so please ensure you supply everything you may need.

  1. Food and beverages are not allowed, under any circumstances, in the exhibit area.
  1. Access to the exhibit area is only allowed if proper fees are paid as per fee schedule.  If you require guided tour service, this should be requested with at least 30 days notice so that a guide can be booked.

  1. Caterers are to meet with the Facility Booking Clerk approximately 1-2 weeks before the event so space available can be shown, and their understanding of Museum policies is clear.  Please ensure your caterer is aware that all food stuffs must be removed after the event and cannot remain in the Museum overnight.  Failure to comply will mean an additional $200 surcharge added to your bill to pay for the clean up of all dishes and to make sure all food is disposed of properly to ensure that the Museum is kept up to Museum Standards. 

  2. Failure to do proper clean up, according to the checklist, will result in a $200 clean up charge being added to your invoice.

  3. Parking is allowed in the Museum parking lot. Please do not allow your guests to use the parking lot of Green Acres Lodge, next to the Museum.

  4. No doors to the Galt Museum are allowed to be propped open at any time during an event due to Museum Standards requiring strict climate control.

  5. Personal property is the responsibility of those attending your function, including at an unsupervised coat check.  A lost and found is kept at the Museum so please contact us after the event if anything has gone missing and we will watch for it.

  6. Lost or damaged equipment will be added to the bill at full replacement cost.

  7. The Galt Museum reserves the right to refuse a booking.

  8. The Galt Museum is a smoke-free building – please ensure your guests smoke in permitted outdoor locations only.

  9. If your event has liquor, please ensure you supply a liquor permit as required by AGLC regulations.  More information can be given to you by any liquor store or at the AGLC website:  http://www.aglc.gov.ab.ca/liquor  . A copy of your liquor permit will be needed on the day of your booking for our files.

  10. Internet service is available in some rental areas – 48 hours notice is required for hook-up of service, if needed.  Any extra IT supports will be billed at cost.

  11. No equipment [tables, chairs, coffee urns, etc.] is allowed off the Galt Museum premises.

  12. We can work with you and your preferred caterer for lighter meals  [i.e. lunch] but 48 hours notice is required – billing will be cost + a 10% administration fee. 

  13. Events are to end by 1:00 a.m.  If an extension on this will be required, please notify the Facility Booking Clerk with at least one weeks’ notice.

  14. You are required to use the full room/space name on any and all advertising, invitations, and other printed materials for your event.
