The Galt Museum & Archives has an important and timely role to play in bringing the past to life for southern Alberta residents and visitors. We hope you have already experience our expanded facility, our regularly changing exhibits and exciting program schedule. We welcome your thoughts and opinions. General Donations

Donations to the Galt Museum & Archives may be directed to an area of museum operations that is meaningful to you, such as Educational Programming, Collections Care, Archives Care or Special Events, to name a few.

Make cheques and money orders payable to the City of Lethbridge, which issues tax receipts on behalf of the Galt Museum [see below], and mail along with a letter outlining the specifics of your donation to:

If you wish to make a donation using a credit card, please contact our Grants/Finance Officer at info@galtmuseum.com.

The Galt Museum & Archives is commission of the City of Lethbridge, governed by a City Council appointed Board of Directors. The City of Lethbridge issues charitable donation receipts under Section 110(1) of the Income Tax Act.


Gift-in-Kind

A gift in kind is a non-cash gift. The most common types of non-cash gifts are securities, real estate and new retail merchandise.

There are many benefits to you when making a gift-in-kind and we would be pleased to discuss these possibilities with you or your financial advisor.

Gifts in Memory

Honour the memory of a loved one or special person by making a memorial contribution to the Galt Museum. When you donate to the Galt, you transform the memory of a loved one into a lasting legacy.

When a memorial gift is made a card is sent to the designated person or family in recognition of the gift. The amount of your gift will not be disclosed, unless personally requested by the recipient, and you will receive the tax receipt.

Donations to the Galt may be directed to an area of museum operations that is meaningful to you. If you wish to name the Galt Museum as a benefactor in a printed obituary, the following is an example of wording that can be used:

"In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in support of the Galt Museum & Archives [insert your preferred area of operations] to 910 - 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge AB T1J 0P6 [payable to City of Lethbridge]."
