Building on the past. Expanding for the future.

The generous support of over 400 foundations, businesses, organizations, groups and individuals, as well as all levels of government, has meant a 100% success in meeting the capital costs for our Expansion Project.

Donations ranging from Community Savings Humanitarian Level gift to the Lethbridge Iron Works Founder Level donation, a $40,000 challenge grant from the Lethbridge Community Foundation to $18,000 from the Galt Nurses Alumnae Association and many others large and small have created a foundation for support that will leave a legacy beyond the building of the new Galt. VIEW THE LIST OF DONORS >>

The new Board of Directors Fundraising Committee is charged with building on this foundation under the guidance of the 2007-2014 Strategic Plan. This direction, along with updated plans for the museum grounds, and the unveiling of the final donor wall were outlined at the Campaign Victory Celebration in October.

BRICK Campaign

Are you…

  • a Galt Baby [born at the Galt Hospital between 1891 and 1955]?
  • a Galt Hospital School of Nursing graduate?
  • a Friend of the Galt?
  • a Galt Museum volunteer?
  • wishing to recognize a special someone?
  • or in need of a gift for the one who has everything?

The Engraved Brick will allow you to see your name or the name of a loved one engraved in stone at the museum.

Each brick can be sponsored for $100 [you will receive a tax receipt for the full amount] and will be placed in the Historic Nurses Garden to be located in proximity of the 1910 Galt Hospital wing of the Museum - construction will begin in the spring of 2008.

In addition, Galt Museum staff are collecting accompanying stories and photographs of the person[s] being recognized, to be placed in a special binder accessible to visitors...an opportunity to share your story with the world!

yesMore information is available in our Brick Campaign brochure [download PDF, 2.7 MB] or contact us.
