program promotes respect and connects the past to the present as students
are introduced to the history, culture and worldview of the Blackfoot
people. Adventures in Archives Takes students behind the doors of the Archives, shows them the resources
available there and how to access and use them. This program highlights
historical thinking skills and reading photographs and documents for information. 2007-2008 Temporary Exhibit programs

Grade 7 Coming West: Coal City in a Wheat Country This program looks at the successive waves of immigrants who came to
southern Alberta and Lethbridge and the interactions between these various
groups as they came to make southern Alberta home. The Galts The Galts highlights three generations of the Galt family (John, Sir
Alexander, and Elliott) and how their works and lives showcase the history
of Canada as it moved towards Confederation and in the period following
Confederation. Reading a Cemetery Students become engaged in field work as they discover the history in
the cemetery. |
