As a Galt Friend, you play an important role in the preservation of the human history of Lethbridge and Southern Alberta. These efforts will allow future generations of citizens and visitors to discover stories and voices from our area.
The Galt Museum has an enviable world class reputation as custodian of our history. It acquires, preserves, maintains and interprets that heritage.
There are ongoing opportunities: to support research, to enhance publications, and to link with others interested in history of our area.

Endowment Fund
In 2009 the Galt Museum Board and the Friends of the Galt Society Board jointly established the Friends of the Galt Endowment Fund with a lead gift from the Friends Society.
Contributions to the Endowment Fund are permanently invested in perpetuity with subsequent earnings generated used to support education and other programs.
Friends of the Galt take on annual projects to raise money, from archival calendars to casinos. The Friends have been significant in building the school visits at the Galt by helping with busing costs. The Friends have purchased supplies and educational artifacts for use by our educators.
Donors are eligible to receive a charitable tax receipt for their donation.

There are several levels of involvement for a Museum Friend. These include an active yearly membership, serving on the Board of Directors, assisting with fund raising and joining with like-minded Friends to support the Galt Museum & Archives into the future.
