program promotes respect and connects the past to the present as students
are introduced to the history, culture and worldview of the Blackfoot
people. 2007-2008 Temporary Exhibit programs Preschool - Grade 2 Meet the Galt Hello,
Museum! Stories, hands-on activities, tours and exploration highlight
this introduction to the Galt and to what a museum does. Discover the Diversity Games,
clothes, stories and more are used to explore the cultural diversity of
southern Alberta. Pioneers Making
butter highlights this program that explores the life of the pioneer. Christmas
Past, Present Make
a doll, decorate (and eat) a cookie and discover how people of the past
celebrated Christmas.

Grade 1 Great Citizens Caution:
bragging ahead! This program highlights famous and not so famous people
of southern Alberta's past to help students understand how these people
helped shape our community. Focuses also on the characteristics that made
these people great: hard work, courage, dedication, compassion, honesty
and more. Grade 2 Then and Now Explore
changes to the community through objects, photographs and stories. Downtown
Lethbridge A
treasure hunt through Galt Gardens helps students become aware of the
history that surrounds them. SimLethbridge SimLethbridge
uses mapping exercises to take students through Lethbridge's development
in order for them to understand how and why it became the community it
is today. Grade 3 Ukrainian Connections Discover the connections between southern Alberta and Ukraine and learn
more about Ukrainian history and traditions. Building Bridges Our most popular science program! Students explore the history of the
High Level Bridge and then work in groups to build a bridge to cross our
model coulee. |
