PERMANENT EXHIBIT: NEW FEATURE

The Kainai people’s vast knowledge of indigenous plants and their healing properties was traditionally passed down orally from elder to child.

Using modern technologies, the Kainai community brought time-honoured ways of knowing back into the world for the benefit of their youth and us all. Kainai students went out on the land with elders, teachers and community members to digitally collect stories and take photographs.

A selection of the photos are now displayed in the Kainai Arbour in the Dicovery Hall, along with a computer kiosk with access to the comprehensive website Nitsitapiisinni: Stories and Spaces featuring stories, photos, resource listings, educational links and more.
