The Galt Board of Directors oversee the facility's objectives and operating policies and serve as a link to the community.

In 2004, 219 volunteers donated 8887 hours of time and talents to enhance the work of eight full-time and five part-time professional staff members. The Friends of the Galt Museum had 400 members.
