Galt Museum Archives are owned by the City of Lethbridge and operate as an arms-length
agency under a Board of Directors, as specified in municipal Bylaw 4890. The

The purpose of the Archives is to collect
and preserve information of permanent value to the study of the human history
of Lethbridge and southwestern Alberta. Information is collected from both public
and private sources, and is available to interested researchers.
