Bronze Coal Miner Statue, ca. 1990

Created by Coaldale artist Cornelius Martens. A replica of the statue installed in front of the Miner's Library Club in 1990. The original statue was also sculpted by Cornelius Martens and was cast by Studio Bronze Foundry and Gallery in Cochrane. After restoration at the original foundry, the full size statue was re-located to the Nord-Bridge Senior's Centre in 2004, after the closure of the club. This replica was found amongst the library materials and mining memorabilia in the Miners' Library building.
