Lawn Sprinkler, ca. 1945-2006

Sprinkler was collected by Trevor Bennett in 1971 and used until 2006. In 1968, Bennet enrolled in a public speaking course at the University of Lethbridge. In order to find inspiration for an upcoming speaking topic, he visited a garage sale and was impressed by the number and variety of sprinklers for sale. He bought the whole lot and, thereafter, presented a lecture on the pros and cons of lawn watering.

Bennet continued to collect Sprinklers after the course. In 1971, he drove by Lethbridge's Fleetwood Bawden school and noted that a number of items, including this specific sprinkler, were being removed from his former elementary school. The school's caretaker gave Bennet the unwanted sprinkler and it was included amongst other lawn watering devices which would eventually total one hundred pieces.
