P20060036007

Device collected from the Leo Singer's Mens Wear store in 2006. Singer specialized in men's and boys' wear, opening his first store in 1930 and later relocating to 214 5th Street South. He had the distinction of being the sole distributor for Scouts Canada in southern Alberta, outfitting more than 50,000 scouts over the years. He additionally supplied the City's police and fire departments with uniforms for over three decades. Singer's motto and trademark were "it's not the sale that counts - it's the customer."

Singer said he fell in love with Lethbridge during a weekend baseball tournament and decided to stay. He was active in the community, volunteering much of his time with different clubs and organizations. He passed away in 1997.
