This bottle of trench powder is believed to date back from 1886-1906. It was likely made by Dominion Glass Co. J.D. Higinbotham & Co. in Lethbridge. This company was well known in the Lethbridge area. J.D. Higinbotham was a very active member of the community, serving as Postmaster at the Lethbridge Post Office, secretary for the Lethbridge Lawn Tennis Club, as well as serving as council on the Presbyterian Sunday School's Christmas Tree Celebration, to name a few. He was also stated as supporting Charles Magrath when he ran for city mayor. J.D. Higinbotham was a wealthy man, building his 16 room home on Redpath Street and Westminister Road in Lethbridge.
