This mace was collected by Mayor Carpenter (1986-2001) during his second visit to Taiwan in 1998. This replica mace was created by a highly respected artisan. The original mace was used by the monarch to indicate his/her level of office and authority to rule. The number of dragons indicates the status of the holder. Two dragons indicate a deity.
