We have very little history on this particular uniform. However, the Girl Guides of Canada has played a significant role in many Canadian lives. When many families were moving to Canada, just before the First World War, the girls who had been Guides in their home countries wanted to continue doing so in their new homes. The first camp recorded in Canada was in 1912, set up just outside of Toronto. The Guides played a significant role during the war, as well. They would make bandages, knit scarves and socks, help collect money for war orphans, and even entertain soldiers and families during this hard time. Though this only tells briefly of some of the Girl Guides history, it shows the efforts they make to help the communities around them.
