Hello! My name is Chautauqua I. A. Desk, but you can just call me 'Chatty'. Even though everybody calls me Chatty around here, I'm not really that kind of desk. When I first came on the scene in 1913 I was the kind of desk that people would have in their homes to promote the culture of work and play among children in their home. I have a great collection of nooks and crannies and features (as seen in the photo above) - rollers that show illustrations, charts, blueprints and forms, and a long, long time ago I had a blackboard on my front. Now I look a little old - my map is starting to peel and nobody uses me anymore. But that's okay, this old desk has served many a diligent student before it moved to the Galt Museum in 1970. It's a good place I have here.
