This talon claw brooch is both a classic piece as well as an important part of a family's history, and was believed to have been worn on a plaid skirt or shawl. The brooch belonged to the donor Jean Johnstone's aunt, Iris Stewart, and was linked to her Scottish background. Ms. Stewart was known to have a great interest in her genealogy and spent many hours researching her background at the Galt Archives.
